Blinged Picture Frame

I needed a Christmas gift and a picture frame is always nice. So I personalized slightly, "Family", and added some bling with vinyl, gemstones, ribbon, and glitter swirls from making memories. The vinyl, gemstones and swirls are on the outside of the frame. I used paper from Me and My Big Ideas and followed the color scheme at SPCC. They always have great challenges. I love the way it turned out. I think I'll have to make another.

I am Thankful

Regina at Bitten by the Bug has a great challenge to create something for the almost forgotten holiday of Thanksgiving. I made Thanksgiving place cards. Each has a different Thanksgiving quote inside and a napkin ring holder. We don't do names for each spot but each person this year will have to read their quote. The pattern paper is from Basic Grey Indian Summer. The leaf cuts are from A Child's Year p.37. The pilgrim hat, feathers and Indian headdress are from Paper Doll Dress Up (Headwear) all cut at real dial size. Ribbons from my stash.

The second is BITTEN by the Bug where the challenge was to use the bird from Storybook and think spring. My bird is early spring with snow still on the Winter Woodland branch. Paper by Scribble Scrabble "Rockin' Robin" and DCWV. The flowers are from Making Memories 5th ave Elizabeth collection.

Snowmen Fall from Card

Laura at Doodle Palace wanted us to make something red and white. Following with that theme and realizing I have no only red and white paper I chose a stripe from Me and My Big Ideas paper pack. Forgive me. I tried my hand at Flower Soft in polar white for a snow drift and used stickles in Diamond and Xmas Red.

Challenges-Penguin Bling

This weekend I tried to involve 4 challenges into one card. Bitten by the Bug wanted you to use the penguin from Joys of the Season. Just Buggin' Challenge 10 was to bling up a die cut so I glittered the penguins"jacket", nose, feet and gave him a fancy scarf(he stole it from the bear on the same key in Joys of the Season). Scrapsketch Card Sketch #8 was the layout inspiration. And Doodle Palace wanted a card for a young boy. What boy doesn't like penguins. I'll save it for my 4 year old who unfortunately has a holiday birthday. Snowflakes on corners cut from glitter paper with Winter Woodland Layers p. 68. Sorry black card laying on black desk. ooops

Butterfly Kisses SPCC#22

I have such fun playing along at SPCC. This weeks color combo was chocolate chip, sage shadow, creamy caramel and dusty durango. I used pattern paper from Bo Bunny's Flutter Butter line, which reminded me of the song about Butterfly kisses. "KISSES" was cut ftom WinterWoddland cart and the "butterfly" word was cut from Jasmine. The butterfly iteself was cut from Storybook and blinged with white Signo pen and pearls ( eye and body) from e. Sorry it's crooked.

Little Turkey Head

Linda at lindaalbrecht typepad had this cute idea for a little pumpkin head for halloween and using the oh so fun Mod Podge. I altered mine to be more for Thanksgiving because Halloween was almost over. Paper is by Basic Grey indian summer. The cuts for the leaves were from A Child's Year, the turkey head was from Animal Kingdom and the head dress was from Paper Doll Dress Up. Wing feathers cut from cardstock. He's going to look cute on my wall.

Winter Layout

SPColorCombos blog had a challenge (Color Combo #21) using burgundy, Ruby red and caramel. I had to wrap my mind around two reds being dominant in a layout but I finally got it. I think they turned out cute. I made a two page layout but either could stand alone. The cuts were from the Winter Woodland cartridge. The mittens were pop-dotted on page 1 and the snowflakes on page 2. The BRRR sentiment could easily be turned into another photo mat. I love that snowman. He and the snowflakes were cut from glitter paper.

Halloween Layout,

The design team at Just Buggin' blog had challenge #9 for a Halloween or Spooky themed project using a Cricut die cut. I love those little paper dolls in costume so I knew what I would do. And the paper was an easy choice with googly-eyed looking trees (I wish I had written down who's paper is was). Hello Kitty Greetings has the cutest Happy Halloween to finish the page.

Scrapsketch Challenge #7

Stephanie at Scrapsketch.com had a really cute card sketch this week so I thought I would give it a try. The paper is Scribble,Scrabble "Lullaby of Birdland" - Rockin Robin. The bird was cut using Winter Woodland and the ovals from Plantin SchoolBook.

Fall Card

Okay, Doodle Palace blog had a challenge this week for a fall card using brown, green and orange, 2 sheets of patterned paper, 1 ribbon, 2 flowers and 1 tag. I think I accomplished this even though it was a hard one for me. I guess I had scrapper's block.
